Excel Workbook Analyzer
Upload your .xlsx or .xlsm file and get an instant complexity score, risk flags, and an approximate conversion cost — structure only, never your data.
Common questions
- What does the analyzer actually read?
- Only the workbook's structure — tab count, formula count, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP usage, whether it contains VBA macros, and links to other workbook files. It never reads your cell values or data, and formulas are only checked as text, never evaluated.
- Is my file safe to upload?
- Yes. Your file is parsed in memory for this one request and is never written to disk or retained — it's discarded the moment analysis finishes. Nothing is stored or shared.
- How accurate is the cost estimate?
- It's a structural ballpark, not a quote — based on the same pricing model as our Project Estimator, sized to your workbook's tab/formula/macro complexity. A free system review gives you an exact, scoped number.
- What if my workbook has macros or is password-protected?
- Macros are detected (presence only, never read or run) and factored into the complexity score as a risk flag — VBA logic doesn't carry over to a web app and has to be rebuilt as real, server-side code. Password-protected workbooks can't be analyzed; please upload an unprotected copy.
